About

My name is Ali, I’m a 3D fine artist trained in Metal Art in Edinburgh and was part of a Women’s Welding Collective there for many years. I created intricate and time consuming sculptures and bespoke furniture. I’m curious about texture, shadow, and surface contrast

I’m  also very involved with Community Arts and children’s creativity. I spent six years in South America running grass roots recycled design projects with women’s groups, including selling our products at The Frida Kahlo Museum in Mexico City.

I work a lot in the UK running projects & workshops with non profits and schools where I also like giving young children power tools and solder irons to work with.

I live in North Wales now with a view of trees and alpacas. After illness and a time to pause, I’m moving away from the large scale metalwork and creating a new body of work on a smaller scale using wire, wood, fabric and embroidery, incorporating movement and texture. I’m interested to see where this latest journey takes me.

Commissions are always welcome, so please contact me if you have an idea or project you’d like to discuss
